What is Just Gems?

Millions of years ago, the civilization of Orion’s Belt basked in the glow of immortality and unmatched knowledge. But their brilliance could not protect them from their own flaws. Fueled by jealousy and ambition, a devastating conflict erupted, shattering their unity and igniting wars that stretched across the stars.

The battles raged for centuries, wiping out entire factions, until only one figure remained — the last of his kind. At first, he reveled in his survival, believing he had triumphed over the other three great houses, once represented by his own siblings. But as the silence of the cosmos grew deeper, the weight of true solitude set in. His so-called victory had left him utterly alone.

Before the final collapse, one of the wisest minds among them, an elder known as Protheus, had left behind a parting insight — a proposal to compile a monumental book of principles. These teachings would serve as a guide for future civilizations, ensuring they would not repeat the same destructive path. The lone survivor, moved by this idea, took it upon himself to fulfill Protheus’s vision.

The principles — power, control, manipulation, individuality, synergy, greed, loyalty, punishment, reward, hostility, foresight, uniqueness, the supernatural, treason, sickness, rebirth, equilibrium, and more — were ultimately distilled into a deck of 54 symbolic cards. He called them Just Gems: a shining guide for future worlds, forged from the ruins of his own.
